How do therapeutic pads work?

Heated or cooled, our therapeutic pads releases humidity that helps soothe aches and pains. This humidity has an anti-inflammatory effect that promotes relaxation.

Our small therapeutic teddy bear measures some 18 cm high by 13 cm wide. It’s best suited for little ones, but is adored by both young and old, thanks to its small size that makes it easy to press against the most painful areas.

Our therapeutic bear for 6 years +

Perfect for children aged 6 years old and over (or as soon as your child weighs more than 55 lbs), the therapeutic bear for 6 and up is bigger in size than its version for little ones, and three times heavier. It measures 26 cm x 17 cm and weighs 1 kg.

How does the therapeutic pad work?

The therapeutic pad can be warmed or cooled, depending on its use. Here are a few useful instructions to keep in mind according to the type of pain:

Relieve toothaches

  • Cool the therapeutic pad for 2 hours in the freezer
  • Press the Béké-Bobo bear against the cheek

Lower a fever

  • Cool the therapeutic pad for 2 hours in the freezer
  • Apply the bear at the base of the neck

Relieve engorged breasts

  • Heat the therapeutic pad without its cover for 30 seconds in the microwave, or 2 minutes in the oven (preheated at 200°C (450°F) and then shut off)
  • Apply the therapeutic pad on the engorged breast

Soothe abdominal pain or constipation

  • Heat the therapeutic pad without its cover for 30 seconds in the microwave, or 2 minutes in the oven (preheated at 200°C (450°F) and then shut off)
  • Place the bear on the abdomen

Tend to little boo-boos such as bumps, bruises and scrapes

  • Cool the therapeutic teddy bear for 2 hours in the freezer
  • Apply the therapeutic pad on the boo-boo

Relieve growing pains

  • Heat the bear without its cover for 30 seconds in the microwave, or 2 minutes in the oven (preheated at 200°C (450°F) and then shut off)
  • Apply the therapeutic pad on aching limbs

Soothe headaches

  • Cool the therapeutic pad for 2 hours in the freezer
  • Apply the therapeutic teddy bear on the forehead or neck

Soothe earaches

  • Cool the therapeutic teddy bear for 2 hours in the freezer
  • Apply the therapeutic pad on painful ear

Relieve nausea and soothe bronchitis symptoms

  • Cool the therapeutic pad for 2 hours in the freezer
  • Apply the teddy bear on the chest

Reduce inflammation due to sprains, strains and arthritic pain

  • Cool the therapeutic teddy bear for 2 hours in the freezer, or heat the bear without its cover for 30 seconds in the microwave, or 2 minutes in the oven (preheated at 200°C (450°F) and then shut off)
  • Apply the therapeutic pad on the inflamed area

Calm your child at bedtime

  • Heat the therapeutic pad without its cover for 30 seconds in the microwave, or 2 minutes in the oven (preheated at 200°C (450°F) and then shut off)
  • Let your child hold the therapeutic teddy bear in their arms to help soothe them and fall asleep

A therapeutic teddy bear made to last

Handmade in Quebec, Canada, the Béké-Bobo therapeutic teddy bear is made to last. It is made with a cotton pouch filled with a patented blend of organic cereals, and covered with resistant 100% polyester Minky fabric.

Replacement covers

A replacement cover for your therapeutic teddy bear can be quite useful. No more waiting for your cover to dry after it’s been washed! We highly recommend it if you use your therapeutic teddy bear on a daily basis!

And cereal pouches!

If unfortunately your cereal pouch has been in contact with water or fluid – for instance if you’ve washed it by mistake – you’ll need to replace it! Rather than purchasing a new therapeutic teddy bear, consider purchasing a cereal pouch to replace the one inserted in your current Béké-Bobo bear.
